AT-HOME LEARNING/HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS:

Math: See homework grid on back of newsletter

Spelling: See home work grid on back of newsletter

Bag Book Reading: We will meet at least three times per week.

Read every night for at least 15 minutes; record your book titles in your agenda.

FOCUS FOR THIS WEEK:

Language Arts: We will read “A Weed is a Flower”

Vocabulary from text: agriculture, clothes, greenhouse, hours, laboratory, money, neighbor, only, question, taught

Word Wall Words: taught, clothes, hours, neighbor, only

Math: The student will develop a number sense for whole numbers through 999 and we will also work with missing shape addends. We will also complete a review of addition and subtraction with regrouping.

Writing: Biography Unit: Begin researching Famous Americans and how to write speeches

Science/Social Studies: Messy Matter

IMPORTANT DATES:

February 1, 2011: PTO

February 17, 2011: March Field trip form and MONEY DUE

February 21, 2011: School Closed

NEWS, NOTES, and REMINDERS:

  • Please be sure to SIGN your child’s homework grid and behavior tracker/calendar each night! This lets us know that you are aware of your child’s homework assignments and behavior in class.
  • Make sure that any books your child reads are written down on their reading log and sign their reading log.
