NEWS, NOTES, and REMINDERS:

• Please be sure to SIGN your child’s homework grid and behavior tracker/calendar each night! This lets us know that you are aware of your child’s homework assignments and behavior in class.
• Make sure that any books your child reads are written down on their reading log and sign their reading log.

Week of August 22 -- Week 1

Dear Parents,

I hope your children are enjoying being back in school. It has been a wonderful beginning to an exciting year. Next week students will not have homework sheets on Monday or Tuesday. They will be required to read for 15 minutes or more. Students must record the title and amount of time they read in their reading logs. Their reading logs are located in their blue homework folder. Spelling will not start until week 4. I believe that date is September 12th. Throughout the upcoming week, your children will be taking assessments. These are given to help us better prepare lessons for your children. On Wednesday and Thursday your children will have math homework sheets. Please be sure these are completed and turned in the following day.

Please be sure to sign your child's reading log and smiley tracker each and every night. If their smiley tracker is not signed and they have been on green all week they will not be allowed to go to the treasure box. They must be on green all week and their smiley tracker must be signed.
