AT-HOME LEARNING/HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS:
· Math: See homework grid on back of newsletter
· Spelling: See home work grid on back of newsletter
· Bag Book Reading: We will meet at least four times per week. (we will begin sending
Reading books home on September 7th)
· Read every night for at least 15 minutes, record your book titles in your agenda.
FOCUS FOR THIS WEEK:
Language Arts: Read “Iris and Walter” and finish our part of the Flat Stanley Project.

Vocabulary from text: country, beautiful, front, someone, somewhere, friend
Word Wall Words: beautiful, because, September, could, all
Math: Comparing and ordering numbers as well as learning how to use ordinal numbers. We also will begin learning how to measure using inches.
Writing: Finish Flat Stanley Writing and begin Diamante Poems and Acrostic Poems
Science/Social Studies: Building communities within the classroom

NEWS, NOTES, and REMINDERS:
- Please be sure to SIGN your child’s homework grid and behavior tracker/calendar each night! This lets us know that you are aware of your child’s homework assignments and behavior in class.
- Make sure that any books your child reads are written down on their reading log and sign their reading log.
- Starting September 13th, we will begin sending home addition facts that your children will need to memorize. Each Friday they will have a timed quiz on the facts assigned.
